Easy Installation
This part is easy to install. Tips for replacing your ice maker:
- Turn off power and water: Unplug the refrigerator or turn off the circuit breaker, and turn off the water supply
- Remove the front cover: Use tape to secure the flipper cover on the left wall in front of the ice maker
- Remove other parts: Take off the wire harness cover and the ice maker itself
- Attach the new mounting plate: Attach the mounting plate to the new ice maker assembly
- Plug in and slide: Plug in the wire harness and slide the ice maker assembly onto the mounting rails
- Reassemble: Replace the wire harness cover and reattach the front cover
- Turn power and water back on: Restore water and electricity to the refrigerator

Took 40 minutes had to shorten fill tube about 3/8” then new replacement went in with no trouble. Replacement was exact fit edge water part# 626662.

Bought because of price. Easy to install and worked for about two months then stopped working. Found OEM replacement kit with extra parts for about $20 more. Spend the extra for original replacement.

This ice maker is working great. First ice cubes dropped about two hours after installation. Not going to give this five stars because, the instructions are not complete. One of the screws did not fit the ice maker. I improvised by adding an anchor in the hole for the bottom bracket. This allowed the screw to tightened. Took me a few minutes longer to come to this conclusion. Otherwise, the installation was easy for me. I am sort of a fix it type person, as I make most of my small appliance repairs. The iceMaker filled the bin in about 24 hours and is still keeping it full. Overall, I am happy with the purchase and the price.

This was a perfect fit for PN 626662 for my 2004 Whirlpool Fridge.Installation was a breeze, I reused the original installed harness so can't comment on the extent of the work required if you intend to use it.The water chute required removal of the U shaped tab which has a score line to fit.The only negative was the one screw hole on the tray for bottom bracket was too big for the screw provided, I tried the old screw and new screw and they just slipped into the hole with no tightness. I clipped an inch of bread bag twist, bent in half and inserted into the hole, this provided exactly the interference that the screw needed to bite and hold.The metal switch arm provided was shorter than the original so I just swapped out the old one, if you use the new arm, the ice will rise an inch or two higher than normal for this fridge.
