Of all the parts on a Kenmore refrigerator to break, after 10 years, it's this little plastic piece that hold the handle on the door! But this piece works fine and is an excellent replacement part.

Very nice aftermarket replacement part that I expect will last at least as long as the original. Looked at many cheaper replacement parts and noticed that they appear to be made from lesser quality plastic that is molded differently and is slightly different in color. This part seems to be made of the OEM material, fabricated in a similar manner as the OEM part and the color is identical to OEM. Manufacturer seems to have reverse-engineered the OEM part and the fit is a tiny bit looser than the original and the part weighs about 10% less than original but that doesn't really matter. The part screws in tight, is stiff and strong, and matches the color of the other support. Price is the same as the discontinued OEM part was and I think that's a bit excessive but they have the market cornered...

I have the old Kenmore 106.70213410 stainless steel refrigerator model. If you have the same model this might be helpful information for you also. So with these kinda of refrigerator it is really common that the end cap of the refrigerator handle breaks after so many years or often wear & tear. The model of refrigerator is Kenmore, so when I spent a lot of time trying searching the internet for a replacement handle, I discovered that the handle all complete cost about $107 to $115 after tax’s and shipping. That was too much for just the piece on top that was broken, so later I discovered that the piece on top of the handle is called an “End Cap” but you have to be careful. Because the refrigerator is full of end caps but no worries because this is original end cap piece number “W10684379” and the parts to the refrigerator are made by whirlpool. I called them and found out that for this model the stainless steel, they discontinued the gray end caps but also the part number changed years back to this number handle on Amazon. But on a side note if your refrigerator is black or white you can still find those end caps at whirlpool.com. So if you are in my position. This end cap will work for your refrigerator but with some modifications, first you are going to have the make the screw hole inside the end cap, where there is a little screw that attach to the actual handle a litter wider down. So that you can reattach the screw because the hold cut is place just a little higher than the hole. And also if you are having a tough time putting the end cap inside the handle, you can cut a really small piece of the two ends of the walls that are grooves that going inside the handle in order to hold the handle in place. But other than the handle is the same as the old model. I hope this comment helps you and saves you a lot of money. Have a good day friends.

When the handle on my 3 year old fridge broke, I started looking for a replacement. I was thinking that the entire handle would have to be replaced ($90). After examining the handle, I realized that the end cap was a separate piece. I ordered this one and it was easy to replace. It requires a special bit for the screwdriver, which I had. Otherwise I would have had to buy one. It's plastic, just like the original and I hope it lasts longer that 3 years, but it was an easy fix for $20.

The little plastic piece on my Kenmore Coldspot fridge model 10670213410 snapped. Unfortunately everywhere I looked online was out of stock for just the little plastic piece part # W10684379 and I didn't want to spend $80-$100 for an entire handle assembly. I knew this product wasn't advertised as a replacement for my broken part, but it looked close enough that it might work. The hole inside of it that attaches it to the handle was just a bit off, but after drilling it a tiny bit to widen the hole I got it to work. Other than that it works great as a replacement, and the form factor is so close that it's barely noticeable now that it's installed.
