My original ice maker for my 30 year-old Kenmore refrigerator broke. Wife wasn't happy using the old-fashioned ice trays. When I saw her pricing new refrigerators (over $2K) I decided to give this a shot. It took me 3 minutes to remove the old unit and 4 minutes to replace with the new. I spent another 35 minutes patting myself on the back for saving a bag-load of money! So if you go this route - plan on a good 40 minutes to get it done.

It fit great in our old refrigerator.Ice cubes are slightly smaller.

This arrived the other day, took me less than two minutes to install. Just make sure the fill tube slides into the back of the fill cup, plug in, and tighten a couple screws. It doesn't fill instantly- must have to cool down first? I came back after 5-6 hours and it looked like it had made at least a few batches. Seems to fill my entire ice bin in about 24 hours. Probably near 8-10 pounds of ice. Hopefully it's a well built product that will last for years!

Item delivered to day was in pieces and appeared used. I contacted customer service, told to stay on hold for 30 minutes and disconnected.
