A grinding vice, also known as a grinding clamp or grinding tool vice, is a device used to securely hold workpieces during grinding operations. It is specifically designed to grip and stabilize materials being ground on a surface grinder or a bench grinder. The primary purpose of a grinding vice is to provide a firm and stable grip on the workpiece, preventing it from moving or vibrating during the grinding process. This ensures accuracy, precision, and safety while grinding, allowing for the creation of smooth and uniform surfaces, precise angles, and consistent dimensions on the workpiece. Grinding vices are commonly used in metalworking, tool and die making, machining, and other industries where precision grinding is required. With a jaw width of 2 inches (50mm), this vice accommodates a wide range of workpiece sizes, making it versatile for various

We received a product made of wood which is entirely useless when you are soldering pipe it also can't hold any type of pipe at all and has no function to widen or clamps/contract a pipe. I don't know what this is but it is not what they are advertising. SCAM SCAM SCAM

Likes: 1: clean cut V-grove to support the work (the business end).2: overall surfaces appear machined flat, square & true.Cons: 1: Seems a mild softer steel, easily nicked or center punched, certainly not a tool steel.2: arrives dirty, maybe fish oil for preservation (like black sprinkler pipe). Recommend clean & oil before using.3: the cross T-handle is unfinished with hand cutting burs present on the knobs & installed loose.4: the drive screw machining is a course finish & runs rough tho cleaned & oiled. The drive screw is also slightly bent causing a minor bind when used.

Pretty crudely made, comes with no hardware in a plastic bag covered in cheap grease and quite dirty. But for the price it's pretty good if you are willing to clean it up, oil/grease it and clean up some of the sharp edges. But I don't doubt some of the negative reviews, not the pinnacle of craftsmanship here.

I thought it was only common sense that the mounting hardware would be included since it has to be very specific in length in order for the vise to be able to travel without hitting the mounting screws. So far, I am unable to find the mounting hardware kit anywhere to purchase and Customer Service was unable to help. I am trying to do whatever I can, to find the correct hardware short of returning the item and buying another that comes with the Vertical Milling Slide. (it seems like a lot of unnecessary shipping back and forth just for 4 screws) Other than that, the vice does seem to be good enough to do the light work that I purchased it for.

Yeah mine isn't a Brown & Sharpe or SPi tool makers or inspection vise but that's not what I needed it for. This works on my Unimat SL micro lathe and a Tieg milling attachment for it. I've been a toolmaker machinist for 40 years. Not trying to hold .0002. This is just for my hobby. For 40 bucks ya can't beat it.

This vice was purchased to use with a vertical slide for simple milling operations on a Myford S7 lathe. The vice is just the right size for my need.
