I had to toss away at least 2 feet. When I went to unroll it it was glued shut. I couldn't open it without destroying alot of it... Why glue it closed? Why not just use two little pieces of tape on both left and right side? Why glue the whole roll like that?I also had to cut away alot of the ending too. Sad all that went to waist... But it works. It's not easy putting up it your using something else besides the wall...As soon as you put it down that's it. You can't take it off of the object you put it on...I had to start over with another price... All in all it's worth the money. It did work but it took two of us.

Decided to go with chalkboard wallpaper instead of paint, so if I decided I didn't want it anymore I could just pull it down. Went on fairly easy and so far it stays up. My only and biggest complaint is that no matter what type of chalk you use, it does not wipe of clean. You can still faintly see it. We have tried the chalk the comes with the board, and liquid chalk. Same effect with both. We have tried using the cloth that comes with the wallpaper, using a damp kitchen towel, and using a wet wipe. Same effect with all. I would give it five stars if it wiped cleaner.

It’s been frustrating and very difficult to apply without having major bubbles and big lines which got us super frustrated and ripped the whole thing off after it looked simply awful. Kept the chalk so just be prepared to go full pro mode to install

Easy to use, wipes clean well. Yet to stick it on the wall so can't really comment further.

Absolutely love this product. Have reused over and over and still in excellent condition. Easy to apply and use. Absolutely perfect. Will definitely buy from again.

This item surpassed my expectation!I ordered it to hide an area of wall that had been scratched and the paint ripped a bit in my bedroom. My expectation was that it would cover the area, make it look nicer, and that I would be able to easily write inspirational messages and verses on it.Upon opening the box, I discovered that the material was thicker than I had expected, and very smooth!Because of its width, my plan was to cut the 8ft roll in half and place two 4ft sections up side by side to create a "chalkboard".I folded the product in half and pinched off the halfway mark. It was easy to cut a straight line because the backing has gridlines printed on it. The scissors cut easily through it.I only removed about an inch of backing from the end of my first panel and pressed the exposed portion *lightly* against my wall. A quick measurement from the ceiling to each corner helped me to level it straight. I laid it a little crooked the first time and was able to carefully pull it back off the wall to realign it and then press it firmly onto the wall when it was where I wanted it.Keeping the first panel attached at the top of the wall, I reached behind the piece to pull down 3" or so of the backing at a time, smoothing each portion firmly onto the wall from the center outward. It went on smoothly and I was able to push any bubbles out or carefully lift a mis-laid area to reflatten.When adding the second four foot piece next to the first one, I overlapped the two by about half an inch, so that there would be no gap between the two panels if I were to have put the second one on a little crooked. Once written upon, you can hardly see the overlap. It also covered the damaged areas of my walls a lot better than I had hoped!The chalk is very soft and writes so smoothly on the material. I accidentally broke my first piece in half because I didn't realize how soft and nice it was! My cheap, hard chalk from home doesnt work as nicely on the material as the chalk that came with this product does, so I will need to order some more soft chalk.The cloth that came with the product dry wipes just like a normal soft chalk eraser would, leaving a bit of white shadow behind. But a quick damp rag wipe down left the material looking as good as new and ready to write on again!I surrounded my new "chalkboard" with a strand of ivy I had laying around. You could also finish it off with some wood moulding strips, or even leave it as-is on your wall.All in all, I love my new chalkboard! It was inexpensive and easy to install. It makes a great addition to my bedroom wall, where I can display inspirational verses and messages that my kids and I will enjoy. There was no mess involved, like we would have had with chalkboard paint. It took me about an hour to put it up and decorate it.I'm looking forward to purchasing a few more rolls once I rearrange my kids' rooms, so that I can create some chalkboards for them!

So I didn't do anything cute looking with this, I purchased it to use as a writing surface for math instruction, etc. for the 7 months I homeschooled my daughter last year. Now I use it for quotes that inspire me in some way I want to remember or improve myself in. The picture I posted is from today, and this piece has been up for about 13 months now.In that time, there has been no peeling off, no bubbling up, which is cool, because I use a wet washcloth to erase this sucker. It will after a period of months have a bit of film that stays on when you wash it, but traditional chalk boards can do that as well. If you take a wet wipe to it, like I did on the bottom portion of this picture, it does clean up a bit better so you can see the difference, should that matter to you.One thing I will note is that we did not use chalk markers with this. And if you are using a brand of chalk other then the ones that come with this product, either the chalkboard decal has to be wetted down first or you need to dip the end of the chalk in a bit of water, otherwise it doesn't show up as well. For me, I'm not taking off stars for that, because it really didn't present any sort of challenges, and I was more concerned with how it would hold up or wear over time. And this wears excellent. If you have wood grain marks on the surface that you put those on, those can show through over time as chalk settles in them, they do on mine, but again, I think that's to be expected with any sort of sticker or paint product that gives a surface a chalk board look.I think this is an excellent product. And I'm super pleased I haven't had to replace this piece so much as once with all of the writing, etc. we did on it, and I'm not entirely sure what to do with the rest of the roll it's holding up so well, truth be told...maybe a door length drawing board on my daughter's door...
