I photographed the sun using a Seestar S50 and with this filter in a holder I 3D printed from a plan on Thingiverse, and produced this image from stacking the best 20% of about 300 images in a 30 second AVI. I think the detail in the texture of the face of the sun, the faculae, and the detail around the sunspots is slightly better than I was getting with a film solar filter.

First time out I aimed it at the sun and snapped a picture. It didn't blind me or burn up my camera. I was rewarded with two sunspots. Now I have to figure out how to get surface detail.

Photographed the mercury transit across the sun with this filter. Did the job. Camera was undamaged so I guess it worked well haha.
