... and as such, it would be hard for it to malfunction unless the installation is incorrect. I had a professional do the installation(s), and the results are excellent.However, Hunter does offer such extensions in 3 lengths -- and provides a table suggesting appropriate lengths for varying ceiling heights. I picked based on their table (the selection also matched my own intuition as to which would be the right one). As mentioned, I had a professional install the fan (actually, three fans with three identical bars).To my eye, the fans are at the exactly appropriate height(s) and work with zero wobbles; I am quite happy with the results.This is a very subjective measure, but what other measure would be appropriate?

I purchased 2 Hunter fans that only came with a 3 inch down rod which would not clear my vaulted ceilings so I had to find longer down rods. This 12” down rod fit perfectly into my fan installation and the color was a perfect match!

Use these to lower the level of the ceiling fan in two of my bedrooms. They worked exactas expected and easy to use. Snug fit, no extra wobble, no created noise. Side not, if you are buying these at the same time as a Hunter ceiling fan, don’t make the same mistake as I did and get extra wire to compensate for the down rod length. My Hunter ceiling fan cam with enough wire for a 36” down rod.

Good quality materials, properly machined and painted to perfectly match a bronze-colored Hunter fan. With the original downpipe (about 4 inches long) you could barely feel any breeze from the fan, even on high setting. After installing this, it's like night and day. I rarely ever have to run the fan on high speed anymore. It dramatically improved the airflow of the fan. Nice!
