Purchase these for security work during those Florida raining days when you're out patrolling and taking notes during your shift at Disney.

Work in a commercial kitchen that requires me to use a pocket notebook and the environment is usually very humid and wet where most normal pocket notebooks can only last a week without near surgical care and upkeep. Figured I would write a thorough review for good product.TLDR: Notebook is waterproof enough to say it's waterproof; water runs right off of covers and pages and dries quickly when standing on pages for short periods of time. Pages write fine with normal pens, pencils etc but ink does wipe off--> reccomend archival ink. Only possible gripe is the ring spiral which is not extremely rugged but can Stand up to (while book is closed) being sat on/shoved into pockets in a hurry.Didn't realize books came in a 5 pack so gave extras to people at work and the books are standing up great. Deliberately ran them under water to see how waterproof they were and water runs right off. Gel pens seem to write the best for visibility but wipe off when wet. Have gotten things like honey/syrups on pages and they come clean with a bit of rinsing. Recently started using archival ink and it does not wipe off when water stands on pages, attached pictures are of water standing on ink and after trying to wipe the ink off. Overall very solid product and a good bargain for the price.

I accidentally put one of these through the washer and all of the pages were super soggy. The pages are now all wrinkly.Apart from that the binding rings aren't that sturdy. I used to carry one in my back pocket and after a couple of days the rings were so misshapen that I had difficulty opening it. Same thing would happen when storing it in a bag with other stuff. The only positive thing I kind of came away with these notebooks is that they don't have the same waxy pages like some other waterproof notebooks, but that's probably why putting one through the wash messed it up as bad as it did.

There will be ink that lifts up when it gets wet, I used a tissue to get the water off and the ink didn't smear. I made sure to take the pen from a dry part of the paper through the wet spots and back to dry. No smearing happened, and the paper didn't wrinkle up like regular paper. It feel slightly thicker then regular notebook paper. Also, I made sure to leave the water on the paper for a few minutes, it didn't really absorb much, the water just moved around the page as I moved it. Definitely worth the money if your someone who works outdoors. Would 100% buy again

I actually ran this paper under the sink and fully emerged it, dried it with a towel and you’d never know it was ever wet. Durable yes, but I did manage to bend the binding in my pocket and the cover came off the one side. Just bent it back and it was good

I love these notebooks. They are very hardy. I work a very active job, I keep my notebook in my front pants pocket. It gets wet occasionally, the pen doesn't bleed or only sightly. I usually use one page every 2 days. The cover doesn't fall apart like other notebooks I've tried. Also the pages don't really tear on me over the course of me filling up the notebook. They don't cost much more than traditional memo notebooks and the quality is significantly higher.

These are slightly cheaper alternatives to Rite In Rain that you don't feel quite as bad about using daily. I obviously still maximize my very square mm of writing space on these but I definitely don't feel quite as bad if I waste a few lines. I do wish they would make some A6/compact binder size paper or at least some larger notebooks. But I'll keep buying these as long as they make them and keep the price below Rite In Rain. What I like is you can accidentally wash a check list in your pocket, your pages don't rip up at the slightest misuse, things like that. So I use them a lot in place of plain paper. Obviously regular paper is often good enough for jotting things down and maybe this is a waste of money but I usually start my list from the bottom of the page and cut off the pages where the list ends with a knife... So I get many list per page. I keep these pads all over the place. I do have larger Rite In Rain in my First Aid Kits for recording vitals. Now let me just stress something. Both these and Rite in the Rain will become saturated if you soak them in water or stand in the rain for 10 hours with them exposed. This is a fact. These are actually wood based paper. I am not a material scientist and I don't know what they do to make them hydrophobic but they do dry out and they do hold the ink. I would recommend using a pencil or a waterproof ink if you are absolutely certain you need the contents secure. But the paper WILL be usable when you let it dry out. I guarantee you if you take a similar Meade note pad and soak or submerge it for 10 hours it's probably toast. Likewise, if you run a sheet of Meade note paper through the wash it's 80/20 it's a goner. While the Gloryfire is almost always perfectly usable. These pads are a great value. Work well. They just need more size and paper options.
