The dispenser lever cracked on my GE GSH25JSDD SS fridge and I was glad to see a replacement part was fairly cheap and there are many Youtube tutorials on how to replace it. Here is a brief description of how easy it is.Step 1: Unplug your fridge.Step 2: Remove the front button panel. This is easy. Look up under your water dispenser and you will see three holes. Take a small screwdriver and push into one of the holes to release the panel.Step 3: Unplug the three wires from the circuit board.Step 4: Use a Philips screwdriver to remove the four screws holding the the dispenser housing in place* and then lift up and slide it out.NOTE: Many people, like myself, have had issues where once all four screws were removed the housing still would not come out. It was stuck and felt like there was something holding it firmly in place on the lower right hand side, near where the light is. After hours of research I found that what happens is sometimes the light will heat the plastic and fuse the housing to the dispenser housing to the side of the fridge and the only way to get it out is to forcibly pry it loose. I tried a screwdriver but was afraid I would break the housing (you can find a replacement housing on Amazon for around $30). I then used a 1 inch putty knife and worked it up under the light area and on the side. After a lot of prayers and maneuvering it finally came free. If you look at my photos you can see the where the housing was fused to the fridge.Step 5: Gently remove the old lever, being careful not to lose the spring, since one does not come with your replacement lever.Step 6: Insert new lever and spring and reinstall everything. It is a very easy task, and if your housing will slide out, it should take you only about 30 or less to do the job from start to finish.

Extremely easy to install and works like a champ. Gained us another few years on the life of an expensive refrigerator.

While swapping this out may intimidate a lot of people. Watching a few quick You Tube videos makes replacing this pretty easy. Took me less than 30 minutes. Save yourself a couple hundred bucks calling a appliance guy!

Made one mistake during installation by not correctly connecting the little pin/clasp that engages the motor for the ice to dispense so I had to take it apart and do the installation twice but overall not bad at all and I'm sure I saved a lot of money not having to call a service person to repair it. Very happy with the product, which we've now been using for several months with no issues.

Fit the GE refrigerator perfectly. YouTube video I found showed exactly how to remove the old one and install the new one.Update to my first review:As I said in my original review, the part did fit and work great. Purchased it in June. I got up the other morning and found part of the funnel on the kitchen floor. I live by myself, so unless my dogs went to use it and broke it off, I don't know what caused it to break. I'm pretty careful, especially after the first (original) funnel broke off. I ordered another funnel from a different seller. I will see how that one works out. I removed 1 star because the part only lasted 6 months. I don't blame the seller for the part breaking since the part fit and did work fine.

I melted this part trying to thaw my water line using a hair dryer. The GE website sells a compatible part (#WR49X10228), which is the entire "Dispenser Shield housing kit". I didn't really need the entire housing kit, I just needed this part, the "ice dispenser funnel". I took my fridge apart and wasn't sure if this would fit or not, but it looked similar. So I took a chance and ordered this and it fit perfectly. It was an exact match with my OEM part. Just pay attention when you remove the old part so you can make sure to install this one correctly. And also save the spring from the original, as this does not come with one.
