A "top" negative reviews complains these are cheaply made. I'd say "inexpensive" not cheap. They are EFFECTIVE, that's what counts, and superior to a lot of the preposterously overbuilt, gimmicky, expensive gizmosThey can be rinsed off in hot water and used for a long time. Eventually anything is going to wear out, used for a doorstop, get thrown at students and lost... etc. But they're priced from a few bucks to a buck and change each in bulk.I haven't explored every possibility, but they're better than anything using felt, IMHO.I find magnetic Microfiber cloths more effective (by a LOT, especially for boards with ghosting problems), but involve a bit more muscle energy (That does become an issue when you're already putting a lot of energy and time into a lecture. You don't want to have to miss a breath or two while cleaning the board.) The magnet does get in way sometimes for people who don't think or don't want to mess with folding the magnetic corner back when they grab it.)Magnetic microfiber cloths are particularly cool for being easy to locate. A lot of faculty where I work don't like the snags of microfiber cloths, but here's a tip: the ordinary plush wash cloths (Microfiber coral fiber/coral fleece) are cheap as they can be, work too. They require even a tiny bit more effort than the snagging type of microfiber cloths, but they're super soft and snag free. They don't have magnets. Someone needs to make a magnetic microfiber eraser with a soft, snag free side, and a board side.
