Not a very good cash register

I run a small business and needed a new cash register as my 20 year old Royal needed to be jettisoned. This little cash register looked perfect in size and price. I did wonder why it only had 3 stars from other users, but as it a small register I might as well go ahead and order one. It arrived within a couple of days. It weighs 5lbs so I was surprised they charged $70.00 for shipping from NJ. After opening I tried to program it. The booklet of instructions was over 25 pages long. The instructions were long, meandering and written in broken english. No instructions on how to program for sales tax, but it did refer to VAT . No instructions for how to print the business name and address on a receipt or a date. There was no number to call for customer support, and on Amazon they only disclose an address in China. It might be possible that they charge $70 shipping, to make sure that if the machine is returned they make at least $50! The exceptionally complicated instructions to program for a small business makes it a bad choice to purchase. Perhaps a geek squad nerd could understand it. With the help of Amazon I was able to print out a return label and hope I get some sort of a refund

This unit is NOT user friendly, there are no instructions online nor any tutorial videos to help. The CD rom that came with it did allow for some customization but if you have a new computer you will need an external CD drive.It can be programed with a lot of patience but if you are not tech savvy I could only imagine the difficulty you would have. It does keep inventory which is why we purchased this unit and it has been working well for us after we got through the programming nightmare.

Overall it will meet my needs. I will have to do more bookkeeping because the machine does not have a credit card button. It is not easy for your tax. It has a plus % button and a minus % button but not a way to put a tax amount on a hot key so you have to put in the tax percentage for every sale under the plus % button. Dept 18 key malfunction.

I just wanted to use it for my sales and to make change, but I have to in put my menu and program the cost of item . I am busy and don't have time for all that.

Great cash register if it came with proper instructions. Says a detailed manually will be emailed, haven't gotten one. the CD has the same instructions that come with it. Click on the manual at the bottom that is the only instructions given!!

I ordered this to use at our church thrift store...all that was needed was to enter a dozen or so prices/departments and print a receipt...no tax, nothing fancy. The instructions that come with it are practically useless...somebody with a very poor command of English wrote them. It took me about an hour to figure out how to simply input prices, and then, inexplicably, it randomly added something it called Wipe/Clear to some depts, which added .05 to each sale! I cleared the data 3 times and reprogrammed it ( in case I had accidently pressed a wrong button while programming it) and each time it did the same thing...nor rhyme or reason...and no way to get rid of it....no online help, nothing in the instructions..nothing on YouTube. Waste of time. I can't imagine what it would take to do more complex things, like run a sales report. We will go back to hand writing out receipts.

The absolute worst product I have ever purchased from Amazon. Total waste of money. The 1 page instructions are useless and there is nothing online to show you how to operate. I consider myself a very tech save person with over 30 yrs in the IT space and this is completely Greek to me.
