One day I got a postcard from my daughter. It really brought me joy so I thought I'd do the same but I didn't have any.So I wanted to find some that were all different so that it would be a surprise each time I sent one.So I started sending two a month to my daughter.I draw pictures, put funny statements and other such things while writing her address each time in different fonts. All handwritten as a way to keep in touch and, hopefully, brighten her day a little.I've been doing this for several months now and I lover the collections in this set. There are several artists with their own styles so it's nice to pick one from a different artist each time so the card looks very different from the prior and since we both love animals: this collection is spot-on.The art is fantastic, the card stock is sturdy and just the type of collection you would want to send someone a nice postcard.

I use these for birthday cards and with the huge selection you'll always be able to find something that matches your friends' interest. A good deal for the price.

As an eclectic homeschooler who dislikes strict curriculum, boring text books, and repetitive worksheets, I LOVE these cards. They are the perfect tool for parents who resonate with the Montessori philosophy "freedom within boundaries" and the TJED philosophy "inspire not require". I bought them knowing there were different types of art represented and I considered (and still do consider) that part of the learning experience. Other reviewers have voiced disappointment about some of the quality of artwork, but I appreciate that it's giving my children exposure to so many different types of artistic expression. Once a week, one of the children chooses a card (without looking). We talk about the art, read about the artist (This is where "bad" art comes in handy - it's a great discussion topic and great to hear young elementary students developing the ability to discern quality work from overly-abstract scribbles.), then we post the card in a visible spot for the week, head to the library to gather books about that animal, spend the week studying the animal on the postcard, and, at the end of the week, (the children) write a letter to someone they love and mail it. With this one, small, inexpensive tool, we are practicing penmanship and correspondence, learning how to address postcards/envelopes, we are studying/covering one animal each week, we are gaining research skills, and we are learning about artistic expression. Even better, if done weekly, this set can last 2-3 years (based on whether you homeschool all year or just the typical 36 weeks). If you're a relaxed homeschooler looking for a way to incorporate animal studies, art studies, research skill development, correspondence skill development and great discussions into your day, you'll love this set!

This is such an eclectic mix of postcards. In general, the cards are the right stiffness and strength that they travel well through the mail. The colors and printing is vivid and crisp. The card overall has a matte finish, no shiny protective coating (on either side), which makes it much easier to write on these with any kind of pen, in contrast to some postcard sets which are so shiny you can't use most gel pens. The only reason I marked it a 4 star and not full 5 star is because the selection is a bit bizarre. I would say 70 of these are perfect and share-able; of course some are very specific so while it would be interesting to receive as a card, I might not keep it if I were using these are decoration or art inspiration. The other 30 are functionally unusable though of course this is just my subjective opinion (for instance, one of the artist's sets of 10 cards is a very particular kind of childlike, crayon-scribble art, which I would not be happy to send or receive; another artist's set of 10 cards is all black and white simple ink drawings, which are really rather boring, and I think I'll only use 1 or 2, and the rest of the 30 'bad' cards are weird drawings throughout the other 8 10-card sets.)They are great for Postcrossing though, because they have such a unique variety and it makes it really fun trying to choose just the right card for people. I've sent a beautiful artistic blue whale card, and a few of the realistic drawings of dogs, and several of the fish and bird selection cards. If you need specific animals, you may or may not find them in this set. There are lots of cats and dogs, several bird and fish ones, and a few unique animals like a lemur card, a zebra, an octopus, things like that. For specific animals Postcrossing people have asked for, I've found and sent a sheep card and a fish card, but I can't recall ever seeing an elephant or a panda, and I've looked through this set several times. Hope that helps!

Pros:- Beautiful, sturdy cards- 10 cards from 10 different artists; each artist has their own distinct style- Wide range of animals and art styles- The box itself is very lovely, and there are little dividers that separate the cards by authorCons:- There are ~10 cards that I don't love, but I feel like that's inevitable when buying postcards- I'll probably end up keeping most of the cards instead of mailing them :)
