Other than hypertension, sleep apnea is the next significant condition that raises concerns about DOT physicals. The book addresses the issue based on the 2016 advisory letter from the Motor Carrier Safety Advisory Committee. It is long past time for FMCSA to develop firm rules and guidelines around sleep apnea to keep our roads safe.
